Poster Iterations and Adaptations: Practice and Play

Over the course of my design career thus far, I have begun to experiment and expand my skillset using different mediums, different techniques, and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone to create something enjoyable.

I have created some of these as a personal message, some as a show of inspiration or aspiration even, and some for actual use in my life.

Throughout all of this, I tried to express myself, push myself, and remain true to myself.

I hope you appreciate some of these as much as I do.

Noah Kahan: My Favorite and Most Impactful Lyrics

The MET: Usability Testing Page 1 and Table of Contents

As shown in the title, this was made to display some of the lyrics I view as the most impactful or influential to me. I created this to pay tribute to that as Noah Kahan has continued to grow as a favorite artist of mine.

Love You Most: To the Moon and Back

The MET: Usability Testing Page 2

This little phrase is something I've heard my whole life. It was frequented by my mom in childhood and used to this day. I wanted to represent that here.

I played around with shapes, intersections, colors, and textures to bring this to life. I also utilized AI and custom text to help me express exactly what I wanted to.

STAY CURIOUS: 3D Play

The MET: Usability Testing Page 3

This poster was originally designed after being inspired by something similar I found on Instagram. I was attempting to find ways to get the attention of the student body about an event happening in April. The goal of this was to make things that were a bit odd, out of the ordinary, and well... made you curious.

DuoTone: Movement and Color

The MET: Usability Testing Page 4

This poster was part of the same series the previous poster was (Stay Curious). The goal of this one was to use movement in a static environment to draw the attention of students to get them thinking about something called Creativity City, but not reveal much about it.

Intersekta: Are you Ready?

The MET: Usability Testing Page 5

This design kicked off my interest in a campaign for Creativity City.

Here, I really wanted to be bold, incorporate meaning, and be ambiguous. I attempted to use loud, clashing colors, overlapping shapes, and strange text to really play into the ambiguous message.

Intersekta: Are you Ready? (An Iteration)

The MET: Usability Testing Page 6

This was only another iteration of the previous poster. I wanted to calm it down a bit and focus on how colors would interact in these scenarios.

Queen Redesign: Resources, Values, and Processes

The MET: Usability Testing Page 7

For a Design Thinking and Principles class, we were challenged to redesign an iconic band. For this, I chose Queen.

I did hours worth of research attempting to understand who Queen was as a band, who they appealed to, and why. I learned a lot about the appeal to anyone, to make music for anyone. For Queen, there were no misfits. I understood this as they were the chosen royalty of the people.

I redesigned their brand to show a bit of grungy luxury, with a crown representation embedded into their name. I pulled from current trends in royal luxury and incorporated elements of the people into them.

Queen has always been a favorite of mine. I would hope that this design brings them into a new age.

The Monarch Butterfly

The MET: Usability Testing Page 7

This poster was designed for an Art and Digital Tools class introducing us to the Adobe Suite. This was my first experience working in Illustrator.

I tried to push myself for this experience, playing with gradients, texture, and color to bring this butterfly to life. It is not my best work, but for me, it represents an attempt at growth and living uncomfortably.
